Write Notepads & Co.
Baltimore / MD / USA
A 3rd generation bookbinder, Chris writes, "As I see it, change has pushed the hand-crafted quality of a tangible good to the foreground. That motivates us.
We still make things here. It may be a Rust Belt town, but Baltimore's charm is its stubborn vitality. We feel it in this century-old warehouse in South Baltimore, where I've teamed with skilled, local workers to make these notepads. We have two goals: to help others in need and to make something that reflects the love and hard work we invest in our respective trades.
So with each notepad purchased, another will go to a Baltimore City student. And you can help, even if you've forgotten what your handwriting
looks like. The reference code inside your notebook (entered at writepads.com) shows you exactly where your donation goes.
We’re helping a new generation of students fill their notepads with hopes, dreams, and the plans to achieve them." Have a moment? Watch Chris make notebooks in his studio.
Favorite Book: To Kill A Mockingbird. It’s one of those literary works that has resonated with me since I was a child. Not only is it an American classic, but the story of Harper Lee is fascinating to me.
Favorite Food: I’m an Marylander, so anything with wonderful blue crab will always be atop my list of favorite foods!
Best card ever received: I’d have to say the funny, quirky cards my mother sends for holidays. We have a running competition to see who can send the most creative cards. Don’t tell her I said this, but I usually win!
